That ONE BIG Cannabis Storage Mistake You’re Making!

What’s the proper way to store medical cannabis to ensure it remains fresh?

Most of you would say—and we’re hoping—that the stock needs to be kept airtight and away from sunlight in a cool place, while making sure the container’s moisture content is properly attended to.

And that’s a pretty much on-point answer.

Yet, it has an element to it that is poorly understood by many.

We’re talking about the container’s moisture content.

The topic of moisture content has always created a divide among masses. Some people believe that cannabis should be stored in a low moisture environment, a belief that stems from the the fact that high humidity can cause development of mold in the cured flower. Others are wary of storing cannabis in low moisture environment, as they know it can make the flower dry and brittle.

Consequently, neither of them are able to get the most out of their investment, with their stock of cannabis prematurely losing its potency.

Cannabis shouldn’t be stored in a low moisture environment and neither in a high humid environment; it needs to be stored at moderate humidity levels, ideally between 50-68%. Furthermore, it must be ensured that this humidity level is maintained.

So if you’ve been storing your cannabis in fridge or in a moist container, you need to stop doing that. Instead, you need to store your stock of cannabis in a container which provides controlled humid environment.

For this, you can use a humidor which can also be a great addition to your home décor. Or, if you are looking for a cheaper fix, you can store your cannabis in an amber glass jar and keep a slightly moistened terra cotta stone inside it to retain the required moisture levels.

If you wish, you can also use a Boveda moisture pack in place of terra cotta stone. But, never ever add fruit or vegetable peels to your storage jar with the intention of introducing humidity. Fruits and vegetables can release too much moisture which can encourage mold growth.
